Frank Kass | Founding Partner

Frank Kass serves today as chairman of Continental Real Estate Companies and leads the firm’s development, acquisitions and sales efforts.  He and partner Jack Lucks grew the company from its roots as Continental Office & Supply into a multi-disciplinary, national development company offering services from acquisition and project planning to leasing, construction, property management and disposition.  

Jack Lucks | Founding Partner

Jack Lucks co-founded Continental Real Estate Companies with partner Frank Kass.  The company's growth from office furniture and supply to realty company to multi-disciplinary development leader began in the early 1970s.  Mr. Lucks remains engaged on the finance and investment side of Continental Real Estate Companies. He serves as director of The Ohio State University Foundation and the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation.

Jonathan Kass | President of Development

Jonathan Kass leads project development and business operations for Continental Real Estate Companies. He earned a B.S. in economics from The Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania and his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Law School. Prior to joining Continental in 1994, he was an Associate at Schottenstein, Zox & Dunn. In his almost twenty years with Continental, Jonathan has overseen the development of millions of square feet of commercial development and presided over a full-service real estate development company which has grown from a purely local enterprise to one that has established a multi-disciplinary presence from coast to coast.

David Kass | Chief Executive Officer, Continental Retail Development

David E. Kass is President of Continental Real Estate Companies. David is charged with overseeing total business growth and development for Continental, with a primary focus on its hospitality and retail divisions. David spends much of his time cultivating relationships with debt and equity sources, as well as with strategic development partners both public and private. He works closely with his development team giving vision to each project and directing site analyses and acquisitions, pre-development strategies, leasing and finance.

A nationally recognized pacesetter in commercial real estate development, during his more than 20-year career, David has been responsible for the development of a substantial hotel portfolio and shopping centers consisting of more than 5 million square feet across the United States, including in California, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia, as well as Ohio. Most recently he was responsible for the development of four hotels in the Pittsburgh and Columbus areas under the Hampton Inn & Suites, Hyatt Place and Springhill Suites flags.

Development - Columbus Office

Tom Caldwell | Executive Vice President of Finance and Development

Tom Caldwell leads Continental’s financing and sale efforts across a diverse portfolio including retail, office and industrial projects.  His specialty is in estate structured finance. Tom earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Miami University and his MBA from The Ohio State University with a concentration in real estate and finance. Prior to joining Continental, he played a key role in establishing Huntington Capital Corporation’s mezzanine debt program.

Jim Clark | Executive Vice President

Jim Clark focuses on office and industrial new development projects for Continental Real Estate. Prior to joining Continental, Jim worked for Duke Realty where he was part of a development team that built more than 5 million sq. ft. of office and 10 million sq. ft. of industrial in Central Ohio during his tenure. Jim earned his Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University and his Master’s Degree in Banking and Financial Services from Boston University.

Mark Damante | Executive Vice President and Counsel

Mark Damante assists in managing the retail development process for all major Continental Real Estate Companies projects.  He focuses on solving issues related to land acquisition, planning and entitlements, scheduling, human resource deployment, leasing and construction.  He also manages complex litigation for the company.  Mark joined Continental in 2005 after serving as director of real estate and senior development counsel for The Limited, Inc. Prior to The Limited, his private practice in Dallas, Texas represented large retail, mall developer and commercial real estate clients.  Mark’s Juris Doctor was earned from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Miami University.

Rick Davis | Executive Vice President and Counsel

Rick Davis received his business administration undergraduate degree at Miami University and his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University.  He focuses on legal matters pertaining to leasing, development and finance for Continental Real Estate Companies and has been with the company since 1999.

Jason Hockstok | Vice President of Planning & Development

Jason Hockstok joined Continental Real Estate in 2014 after spending nearly 19 years consulting as a civil engineer. He plays a key role within the development team leading the efforts of consultants across multiple disciplines from site engineering to landscape architecture. Jason acts as a liaison with the local utilities, planning and zoning commissions, city councils, and other government entities. He has years of experience serving as the project lead on a variety of projects ranging from retail outlots to grocery-anchored power centers to large mission critical facilities for Fortune 50 companies. Jason earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Ohio Northern University and is a registered engineer in the State of Ohio and Tennessee.

Rick Lindenmuth | Vice President of Planning & Development

Rick Lindenmuth is the in-house architect for Continental Real Estate Companies.  He works throughout the development process in collaboration with leasing, legal and construction teams, tenants and municipalities.  A member of the American Institute of Architects, Rick earned his architecture degree from The Ohio State University.  He joined Continental in 2000 following tenures with Horne King Rauh; Sullivan Gray Bruck and his own practice, W. Roderick Lindenmuth Architects.

David Royer | Vice President of Finance and Development

David L. Royer is the vice president of finance and development. He is responsible for the capital structure (debt, mezzanine and equity) across a diverse set of commercial developments including retail, office and industrial properties. During the development process, he is responsible for construction and asset management. Prior to Continental, David was a vice president in commercial real estate lending for Fifth Third Bank.  He earned his finance degree from Miami University and his MBA in real estate from The Ohio State University. David currently serves as a board member for NAIOP Central Ohio and the First Community Village Foundation. Previous board memberships include: Sky Bank (Columbus Region), Capitol Bank of Columbus and Junior Achievement of Central Ohio. David is also a past president of The Athletic Club of Columbus. He has also served as a guest lecturer for the Fisher School of Business and a member of a number of professional and service organizations including the Columbus, Ohio and National Board of Realtors, and Columbus Rotary.

 Development - Pittsburgh Office

Barry Ford | President of Development, Pittsburgh Office

Barry Ford is President of Development for Continental Real Estate Companies.  For the past fifteen years, Mr. Ford has led the Pittsburgh Office of Continental Real Estate Companies where his responsibilities included the oversight of The Waterfront, a 300-acre, $300 million mixed-use development of the former Homestead Works of the United States Steel Corporation; development between PNC Park and Heinz Field on Pittsburgh’s North Shore including the Equitable Resources Building and the Del Monte Foods corporate office building; the Streets of Cranberry retail lifestyle center in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; the renovation of The Galleria in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania; the development of Hyatt Place Hotel; and the development of Stage AE, Pittsburgh’s first premier indoor/outdoor amphitheater.

Mike Hudec | Vice President of Development, Pittsburgh Office

Michael Hudec is Vice President of Development for Continental Real Estate Companies.  For the past thirteen years, Mr. Hudec’s responsibilities included planning and design, coordinating due diligence studies, owner representation, tenant coordination, managing project developments from start to finish, and obtaining regulatory approvals and permits.  Project highlights include the 300-acre, $300 million, mixed-use Waterfront development in West Homestead, Homestead and Munhall, Pennsylvania; development of the Equitable Resources Building and the Del Monte Foods corporate office building between PNC Park and Heinz Field on The North Shore in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; the Streets of Cranberry retail lifestyle center in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; and The Galleria Mall building and garage renovations in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania; the development of Hyatt Place Hotel; Stage AE; and Rave Cinemas movie theater.


Property Management

Jeffrey A. Wolf | Executive Vice President

Jeffrey Wolf leads Continental Realty Property Management’s business development and oversees all operations for the division’s service to over 12.5-million square feet in office, retail, warehouse and industrial space.  These operational responsibilities span security, maintenance, budgeting and legal issues. He joined the company in 2004 with almost 20 years of real estate and property management experience with the Mattlin and E.V. Bishoff companies. Jeffrey serves on the Board of Governors of the Building Owners and Managers Association and earned his Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Miami University.

Sarah L. Campbell | Vice President

Sarah Campbell is responsible for Continental Realty Property Management's Midwest business development. Her experience includes property management, real estate finance, lease negotiation and administration, and maintenance supervision. Sarah joined Continental after serving as Portfolio Manager with Capitol South and the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation, where she oversaw loan and grant programs focused on the redevelopment of downtown Columbus.



Todd Alexander | President, Continental Building Company

Todd Alexander joined Continental Real Estate Companies in 1986 and has led the company’s preconstruction and construction efforts across a diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial and medical office, hotels, student & multifamily housing, senior living, and retail. During his tenure, he has grown the company to 141 professionals and $375 M in annual revenues, with more than 85% of its projects being constructed for other developers and private clients.  Todd holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from The Ohio State University and is LEED certified by the USGBC.  For 10 years he served as president of the Board of The Builders Exchange of Central Ohio. He currently serves as 2nd Vice President of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio and chairs Continental Building Company’s charitable arm, CBC Charities, which has donated more than $700,000 to non-profit organizations that care and educate youth.


Larry Ritter | President, Continental Realty

Larry Ritter, Continental Realty principal, leads the division’s brokerage services and teams. He joined Continental in 1990 after serving as regional general manager for IBM Corporation then president of Rax Restaurants. He earned his degree in economics from The Ohio State University and his masters in business administration from The University of Cincinnati. Larry has served on the boards of 5/3 Bank of Western Ohio, The Ohio Hunger Alliance and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Columbus.


Corporate Communications

Tina Mechling | Vice President of Marketing

Tina Mechling is responsible for marketing, public relations and corporate communications for Continental Real Estate Companies. She guides and manages all external communications efforts and has executed project announcements, groundbreaking and grand opening activities for Continental projects across the United States. She works closely with the retail team in all facets of retail development and leasing and is based in the Pittsburgh office. She is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).

 Human Resources

Melissa Johnson | Director of Human Resources

Melissa Johnson is responsible for the creation, implementation and coordination of administrative human resource policies, procedures and activities. She handles employment issues, manages benefits administration, oversees training and directs employee services.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in communications from The Ohio University. Melissa is on the Board of Governors of The Bexley Education Foundation and is a member of the Society for Human resource Management (SHRM) and the Human Resources Association of Central Ohio (HRACO).
